MindShift CBT

The MindShift CBT app uses evidence-based strategies based on cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) to help you relax, be mindful, and take action to tackle anxiety.

What can you do in the MindShift CBT app?

MindShift CBT has a check-in, where you can rate your mood and anxiety, track any symptoms of anxiety, and describe what’s going on for you. You can look back at your check-ins, see how your anxiety has changed, and spot if there are any triggers or trends.

The app has information about anxiety, including social anxiety and phobias.

The main feature of the app is the ‘tools’ section, where you can choose from healthy thinking, chill zone, or taking action.

In healthy thinking, you can fill out a thought journal with prompts to help you spot any ‘thinking traps’ you might be falling into and balance your thoughts. It can also support you to try belief experiments and has coping cards with helpful messages.

The chill zone has a range of audios, including body scans and breathing exercises.

Finally, the taking action section has an exercise that can help you gradually overcome fears. You can also set challenges to help you leave your comfort zone and work on healthy habits like getting enough sleep and connecting with friends.

There’s also ‘quick relief’ section, where you can use breathing and grounding exercises, find suggestions for simple self-care activities, or get little encouraging reminders.

You can set goals in the app – it gives you some prompts to help you make them realistic, then you can schedule notification reminders if you want to.

There’s also a community, which you have to be over 18 to access.
