Brent Wellbeing Team
Provided by Anna Freud
Qualified wellbeing practitioners provide short-term therapeutic support for young people with mild to moderate mental health and emotional wellbeing needs. You need to meet at least two of: living in Brent, having a GP in Brent, and attending school in Brent. The service supports 5 to 18 year olds, or young people up to age 25 if they have a special educational need or are disabled. You can refer yourself, but parents/carers and professionals can make referrals too.

Practical and emotion support to help young asylum seekers and refuguees navigate whatever challenges they’re facing, including the asylum system, age assessments, homelessness, detention, mental health, and education. You can drop in to the hub without an appointment – the Brent hub can also support young people from neighbouring boroughs.

A range of services for young refugees, asylum seekers, and unaccompanied minors in the UK including one-to-one mentoring. Counselling is avaiable in Dari, Farsi, Pashtu, and English in some boroughs (with specific age limits). They also offer sports and music clubs and other social opportunities in Edgware.
Online counselling

Counselling for young LGBTQ+ people to promote self-understanding and self-acceptance. The counsellors all identity as lesbian, gay, bi, or trans and work with young people to help them understand their emotions and past experiences, while helping them learn strategies to better manage their lives.

Best For You is run in partnership by four organisations in north-west London (Central and North West London NHS Foundation Trust, Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, West London NHS Trust, and CW+). This means we can provide more information and detail about the helplines and services available in these north-west London boroughs.
We also list national support that you can access from anywhere in England.
