Content for professionals on Best For You
Previously, the Best For You website had some content for professionals. Based on feedback from young people, we’ve decided to focus the site on supporting them directly. We remain committed to helping professionals to use the Best For You website to support young people.
What’s on the Best For You website?
The Best For You website exists to make sure young people can access the mental health support that’s right for them as soon as they need it.
It has accessible, NHS-approved information about wellbeing alongside information on self-care and getting more help, because young people told us they needed to be able to find all of this in one place.
The website has information about:

Signposting tool
Our signposting tool that allows anyone to find services to support young people (aged up to 25) with their wellbeing and mental health.

Texting NATTER
Young people can use our NATTER text service, which is run by our partner organisation Shout. It’s a free, confidential 24/7 source of support for any young person who needs help.

How can I use the Best For You website to help a young person?
You can use the Best For You website as a source of information and signposting for young people.

Information
All of the content on the website (except this page for professionals, and a page for parents and carers) is written for young people.
This means you can send them (and their families) pages to help them understand mental health conditions or NHS services or find practical tips for managing life challenges or emotions.
Apps
You can use the app toolkit to find free wellbeing apps to recommend to young people, knowing all of the apps on the site have been checked by Best For You and approved by an NHS clinician.
Signposting
You can use the signposting tool alongside a young person, to discover more about the services available for them based on their age, their location, and the support they’re looking for.
We know that there are often too many local support offers for GPs, teachers, and youth workers to keep track of them all, so the tool can do that for you.
You can also tell young people about NATTER, our free, confidential text service.
If you’re in north-west London, you can find a custom link to the tool filtered for your borough to make signposting easier:
Why are most services located in north-west London?
Best For You is run in partnership by four organisations in north-west London. This means that, at the moment, we can provide more information and detail about the helplines and services available in these north-west London boroughs.
We also list national support that you can access from anywhere in England.
What is Best For You?
Best For You is an innovative approach to mental health care designed for – and in consultation with – young people and their families.
Alongside the Best For You website, Best For You has created state-of-the-art NHS spaces where professionals can care for young people’s mental and physical health in new and bespoke ways. It also connects organisations within and beyond the NHS, working with more than 75 community partners to provide information and signposting, early intervention, and support while young people wait for NHS care.
